Powered by a new 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor running at 2.4GHz, Raspberry Pi 5 brings 2-3x the performance of the Raspberry Pi 4 series single board computers. Pi 5 also brings the graphics power with a new 800MHz VideoCore VII GPU and dual 4Kp60 display output over dual micro HDMI ports. Raspberry Pi 5 is available in 4 GB and 8 GB version, each with LPDDR4X-4267 SDRAM.
New Processor
The new Pi 5 features a Broadcom BCM2712 2.4GHz quad-core 64-bit Arm Cortex-A76 CPU, with cryptography extensions. This CPU includes 512KB per-core L2 caches and a 2MB shared L3 cache. This processor features silicon built at Raspberry Pi.
Southbridge
Pi 5 features a new component manufactured by Raspberry Pi: Southbridge, a part of the chipset that results in accelerated communication with peripherals. Southbridge delivers faster transfer speeds to external UAS drives and other peripherals.
Double and Triple Performance All Around
Two four-lane 1.5Gbps MIPI transceivers triple total CSI/DSI bandwidth. The new tranceivers allow any combination of two cameras or displays.
SD card performance is doubled. with SDR104 mode.
A new PCI Express 2.0 interface supports high-bandwidth peripherals adding to the new power of the Raspberry Pi 4.
